Before you consider purchasing a home you should consider what exactly you are looking for:

Do you want to be near a specific school, work, recreation, or family-oriented place?
Why are you looking for a new home? Up-sizing, down-sizing, new or newer, or are you just wanting a change?
What size home do you need? 3, 4 or more bedrooms – one or two level – two living spaces – 2-3 car garage…all of these are helpful to know ahead of looking for a home.
Do you need a small or large yard? Do you have large pets and kids, or do you want to simplify your life and not maintain a large backyard?
What size house do you think you can or want to afford? Have you talked with a mortgage banker to advise you on rates and programs?
